2010 – 2015 First  Nominated Member and Parliamentary Secretary.

2020 – Present Elected Member of the Anguilla Progressive Party and Member for Road South. Appointed as Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing and Tourism. Mr Hughes is also the Member of the Select Committee on Parliamentary Reform.
